Photosynthesis. Natural science 3rd grade. JK

We already know so many things about the fascinating world of PLANTS:

They are living things because they are born, grow, reproduce and die.

Their parts are:

Plants need some things to live such as water, minerals, carbon dioxide, light and energy from the sun, and space.

Well, well, well, as you know, we also breathe but did you know that plants also breathe?

Plants breathe through photosynthesis.

How do we get oxygen?

Plants transform water, sunlight and carbon dioxide into oxygen.
Plants absorb minerals and water from the soil through the roots. This mix is known as  Raw sap. Raw sap travels to the leaves.
Leaves absorb Carbon dioxide through stomata.

What happens during Photosynthesis?

The photosynthesis takes place in the leaves of plants. The leaves are made up of very small cells.

Inside these cells are tiny  chloroplastsEach chloroplast contains chlorophyll.

Chlorophyll absorbs the sun’s energy and makes Oxygen releasing it into the atmosphere.

Remember!
Plants breathe in Carbon Dioxide and release Oxygen  but human beings breathe in Oxygen and release Carbon Dioxide.

Why are plants so green?

They have
chlorophyll
which gives leaves their green color.
