Spain. Socia Science 3rd grade JK

I love my country and this is Spain!
Tell me about Spain?
Spain is part of Europe. The capital of Spain is Madrid. There are 17 communities and 2 city communities, Ceuta and Melilla.

Hey, Spain has a peninsula and two archipelagos with islands, Baleares and Canarias

The borders are Francia and Portugal.

Rivers flow into the Cantábrico Sea, Mediterráneo Sea, and the Atlántico Ocean.

                       Spain, beautiful Spain!
Spash, spash, spash goes the river down the stream....

A river is a long stream of fresh water. It flows across land. It starts in the mountain in its source and ends at its mouth into the ocean or lakes.
Let´s just stop in our country, Spain.
Did you know that the longest river in Spain is El Tajo and the widest river in Spain is El Ebro?

The most important rivers in Spain are “El Miño, El Duero, El Tajo, El Guadiana, El Guadalquivir, El Segura, El Júcar y El Ebro.”

These rivers have their mouths in the seas and oceans of our country. These are "El mar Mediterráneo", "El mar Cantábrico" and "El océano Atlántico"
There is over 7000 kilometers of coast in Spain.

Let's sing a song to learn the rivers

Did you know that montains are great not only because they can be enormous but because they can be great for our health?
Now you might be asking yourself

What are you up to?

                          Up to the mountain.
Hiking is great, fun and above all healthy.
What are landforms?

Landform can be low such as plains and valleys.

A Plain is a flat land

A Valleys is surrounded by mountains.

Landforms can be high such as hills
and plateaus

but they can also be large and rocky... these are mountains
This here is "Pico Aneto"
Pyrenees, Aragon
The "Pico Aneto" is high but the highest mountain in the península Ibérica is Mulhacén in Granada
Sierra Nevada.
Now, sometimes there are a group of mountains together, we call it a mountain range
One of the largest mountain range is "Los Pirineos"
The only desert in Europe is in Almeria. It is called Desierto de Tabernas.

Spain has a volcano called El Teide and recently, the one of La Palma.
These are the 3 parts in a mountain and remember we ski on the summit way up high.
The top of the mountain is the summit
The sides of the mountain is slopes
The bottom of the mountain is the foot
Let's learn some of the landforms of Spain!
