The 5 senses send information to the brain about our surrounding.

Make a try!

What are we up to? Do you want to know?
Check this then.
Let´s get rolling!
Which are the organs of sight?
Our eyes are the organs of sight.
We can see different shapes, sizes and colors.
Our eye needs protection.
      Here are the parts:

                                Lachrymal Glands (tears).
How do we see?
The main parts of the eye are:
The iris is the coloured circle.
The pupil is the black dot in the circle of the iris. Light goes through it.
The retina is at the back of the eye. It receives information and sends it to the brain.

Which are the organs of the hearing?
Our ears are the organs of hearing.
We can hear loud or quiet sounds.
The main parts of the ear are:
Outer ear: ear canal
Middle ear: eardrum and three small bones
Inner ear: Cochlea

How do we hear?
Sound enters the outer ear and goes into the middle ear.
The ear drum vibrates and travels to the three small bones to the cochlea.

The vibration goes to the brain and this is what you hear.
Let´s see how it works!
Let´s play!

Which are the organs of taste?
The sence of taste is located in our mouth.
The tongue is the organ of taste.
Did you know that the tongue is a muscle?
The tongue is covered by
taste buds that identify different flavourssweet, bitter, sour,  and salty.
Food is so good! Yes but please, have a balance diet.

Which are the organs of smell?
The nose is the organ of smell. We can smell good or bad.
How do we smell?
Air enters in the nose through the nostrils and goes to the olfactory nerve.
The olfactory nerve detects smells and sends information to the brain.
The nose is protected by small hair and mucus that filter the air we breathe in.
Why do we need mocus?

Well, well, well, as you know, we also breathe but did you know that plants also breathe?
Plants breathe through photosynthesis.

Which are the organs of touch?
Our skin is the organ of touch.
We can feel cold, hot, soft, rough,..
How does it work?

The epidermis is an external thin layer that protects our whole body.

Underneath is the dermis. There are the nerves which send the information to the brain.

The skin that we have in our fingertips is called fingerprints.
The fingerprints are different on each person.

Let´s play!
