We are ready to hit off to our first field trip.
Our first stop was at The Bridge of San Martin located at the western end of the city
We walk over the bridge where the Rio Tajo flows
Up a sharp climbing of steps.....
Gosh, I thought I wasn´t going to make it!
and reached the Monastery of San Juan de los Reyes built by Queen Isabela to hold the mausoleum of the royal family and was dedicated to St. John the Evangelist, whom the queen admired. However after it was built, the queen changed her mind and decided that the mausoleum would be placed in the Cathedral of Granada.
There are chains that hang on the exterior walls and these mean that many Christian prisoners were freed during the Catholic Kings campaign to conquer Granada.
After that long stepping up high we needed a rest.
So we went walking down those narrow street and...... Guala! sat at a lovely park for some tea.....not really tea but those lovely snakes mommy or daddy made us.
Yummy for our tummies!
Then we visited the House and Museum of El Greco located in the Jewish quarter.
In one word........AMAZING!!!!!
Behind its walls, Toledo preserves an artistic and cultural legacy. We visited a church, a mosques and a synagogues.
This is all my friend.
